The PW-50 you just bought or are about to buy hasn’t changed much since Yamaha began production. Therefore knowing what year PW you have can be difficult unless you know how to read the VIN number or have a title in hand. The VIN number on a PW-50 can be found on the frame’s down tube. If the VIN number starts with 4X4 your PW-50 is between 1981-1983 and more research will be needed. Starting on the left, identify the 10th digit and use chart below.
