Description:
The Ozarks offer a rugged, "untamed" alternative to better-known ranges like the Smokies, featuring massive mountains and a deep-rooted backroading culture. This summary captures the essence of the OZ BAT (Ozark Big Adventure Trail):
The Experience: Starting at a historic general store, you’ll navigate a desolate but fascinating landscape filled with fire towers, old mills, and quirky stops like Eureka Springs.
The Terrain: The route is 85% gravel, making it a playground for dual-sport bikes and off-road vehicles.
The Challenge: Expect nearly 100 water crossings, including genuine river fords that require caution due to their depth.
Nature’s Wonders: Beyond the trails, the route showcases some of the largest natural springs in the United States.
It’s essentially a real-life "Oregon Trail" adventure designed for those who want to get lost in the wild.
