MZS DRZ 400 Clutch & Brake Levers

Stock levers on the DRZ-400 are notoriously bulky and, let’s face it, not very attractive. For our DRZ Adventure Build, we decided that upgrading to color-matched, pivoting levers was a must. Since this build focuses on the quality budget-friendly route, we put the MZS Clutch and Brake Levers to the test.

Installation:

The installation was incredibly straightforward, taking only 10–15 minutes for both sides. It’s a simple two-bolt process. I did perform a minor clutch cable adjustment to remove some slack, which helped tighten up the firmness and “bite” point of the lever.

First Impressions:

After my first ride, the difference is already night and day. The ergonomic curve provides an easy pull, and your fingers feel more secure without the risk of slipping. Because these are short-throw levers, the controls are more responsive, which takes a little bit of time to get used to compared to the stock feel. Check back in a few weeks when we have more rides using these levers for an update.

The Verdict:

If you are looking to get rid of the “tractor” levers without spending a fortune, these are a fantastic upgrade. They offer the protection of a folding design and a premium look at a fraction of the cost of high-end alternatives. Lets face it with over 1600 reviews and a 4.3 ratting others feel the same.
