Applying graphics to your dirt bike can be done two ways dry or wet. This step-by-step guide will be on how to apply graphics wet. In my opinion this is the easiest way to apply graphics. The only down fall is if the bike’s plastics have a lot of curves applying wet might be out of the question, but I will give you a few tips that might just make it possible. If you have not removed your old graphics check out “Removing Dirt Bike Graphics” for a step-by-step guide to get your project started correct. I used www.ridepg.com for this project.
Tools Needed
1. Graphics Kit
2. Soapy Water
3. Brake Cleaner/Carburetor Cleaner
4. Squeegee or similar object.
5. Hair Dryer
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is make sure the surface of the plastic is free from dirt, oils, and left over glue. Spray the plastics with brake clean/carburetor cleaner to insure graphics will stick properly.
Step 2
Spray soapy water solution onto plastics, and back of graphics.
Step 3
Place graphics on bike and slide them into place. Once in place use your squeegee to remove any air/water bubbles.
Step 4
On curvy areas or the edges where graphics have a hard time sticking use your hair dryer/heat gun to remove the moisture. Start at the top and work your way down ensuring all air bubbles are gone.
Step 5
Once you have installed all of your graphics I recommend going back over them with a wet rag to insure all air/water bubbles are out.
