Changing some things up this year for the Down And Back. We have some great Indiana events coming up this season, so thought I’d move things over to Ohio for 2024.
Here we come Southern Ohio!
BIG tip of the helmet to Ted Williams for all of his efforts and dedication to creating the Southern Ohio Adventure Loop.
We have had some great sponsors for this event over the last couple years in Indiana and this year is no different. Proud to have Dreyer Motorsports and Riders First Motorcycle Training for doing what they do best…supporting our riding community! These guys and gals help tremendously with ride shirts, decals, and some great raffle items. HUGE thanks to Hills Of Fire MX for the sponsor allowing us to utilize their property and add some trails to the ride. This off road section will be a blast on Sunday only. And how about HONDA Of Rarden coming through for us sponsoring our “Lunch Stop” on Sunday!!!
This will be held at the Otway Covered Bridge and is a picture perfect spot.
Beautiful Shawnee State Park Turkey Creek Campground will be base camp and offers all amenities. A lot of trees, electric sites, and shower house available.
The supplied Chili Dinner starts 6:30pm at the “Roosevelt Shelter” followed by the raffle at 7:30pm Saturday evening. Shout out to Dreyer Motorsports for the BIG contribution to our raffle!! Some great moto goodies to give away and a set of MotoZ tires courtesy of Pacific Powersports.
The Roosevelt shelter shares the same entrance as the campground and has public access. Sits lakeside and plenty of parking available. This will be a great spot to meet up for those not staying in the campground.
“Sign Up” will also be available here at the shelter and at site#56.
This is our 3rd annual D&B and every year it just gets better. This is a totally free event, no membership or limit on riders. Bring what you ride and get at it. There will be groups to ride in if you’re showing up solo. Kickstands up at your own leisure but most head out by 10:00am.
Lunch Stop locations,Fuel, Food, creek xings, advanced options, and other details are marked on the tracks. GPX will be posted up HERE the week before event.
Site #56 look for the Down And Back sign. Also set up at the Roosevelt Shelter all day
Saturday.
Starts Fri5:00pm Ends 9:00amSun
Receive reserved shirt, decal, raffle tickets, and Hills Of Fire waiver bracelet. If any of you miss Sign Up you can still get into Hills off road section. They will have “waiver bracelets” there also, and this section is only available for Sunday.
This year we will have an “Adventure” and “Challenge Route”. Guaranteed to be an excellent time getting out for small bike FUN. Both routes will include a visit to the firetower and expect creek xings on both days. Gas stop are plenty and should work for everyone.
Sat -“ADV route”
130mile short option or a 150mile option with Lunch Stop. Mix of gravel/backroads and 1 Advanced option. The gravel roads can be challenging with wash outs in spots…a lot of twisties, elevation changes, and some of the creeks may be deeper than others so approach with caution. This will be a great way to see the SOAL main tracks and find some Big bike challenges. Lunch Stop is at PAXTON’s in Bainbridge for the day.
Sun -“Challenge Route”
Another day of gravel/backroads but connecting some smaller bike oriented roads that will involve more technical wash outs, mud, creek xings, and rocks. Thanks to Hills Of Fire MX for incorporating a trail section for our Sunday route!! DONT MISS OUT on Sundays Provided Lunch….pulled pork and sides. Again this will be held at the Otway Covered bridge and provided by Honda Of Rarden.
A 105mile loop that will not disappoint and has a good mix of terrain.
GPX tracks will be posted on the
“Down And Back Adventure” fb group in the Files section. Join us there!

Reserve your site ( link above) as they do fill up quick. Can’t wait to see folks from last year and get over to Ohio. If you’re not staying in the campground still come out and join the fun. Parking by the shelter is a good public meet up spot. This is a RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK and PACE event.
