2024 Lucky Bastard Dual Sport

Info-Lucky Bastard Dual Sport
Starting and ending in Moose Lake, MN at the Red Fox Campgrounds. This is an all new ride for 2024, layout is focused on dual sport with multiple optional “hero” loops on private land, so ADV bike can also have a blast by-passing the hero sections. The dual sport loop will be 100+ miles of road and trail through the beautiful countryside between Moose Lake and McGrath with an additional ADV route of 50-70 miles to the north of Mille Lacs Lake. We are trying to limit the ride to more trail than road, using private property two track and single-track trail of gracious landowners who have allowed us the use of their woods and fields for the day. Lunch will be provided about the 40-50 mile mark which will also be the gas stop. Any licensed rider on a street legal dirt bike is welcome but will need a headlight, tail/brake light, licensed plate mounted on the fender (not on a backpack) Minnesota does not require blinkers. The event is one day with discounted camping available on Friday and Saturday nights, there are limited sites with full hook-ups with plenty of camping sites as well. Sound check is performed Friday night and Saturday morning. All bikes must pass the 96bd or lower test to ride. All registrants must be ACTIVE AMA members.

Motorcycles Dual Sport Bikes should be on-road and off-road capable.

Motorcycles MUST meet 96db noise limit testing. This is the standard currently used at all the AMA sanctioned dual sport rides in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

If it’s loud, leave it at home.

The ride will consist of various off-road sections and loops tied together by scenic, fun gravel and paved roads. “Adventure” type bikes will be more than capable of the main loop.

Off-road portions are designed to be fun for a variety of skill levels and will be a mix of two-track and single-track.

We STRONGLY recommend if you intend to hit some hero sections you have full knobby tires mounted for this ride.

We STRONGLY recommend that your bike is under 400 lbs. for the hero sections, but if you’re feeling manly on your new 890 feel free to show your skills.

Lunch on the trail is included.
